等級演奏考試的考生在演奏或演唱出版時有伴奏或二重奏聲部的考試曲目時，必須使用伴奏，除非考試大綱另有說明。。
錄製的伴奏現在和現場伴奏一樣是等級演奏考試的永久選項。考生可以選擇在演奏時使用現場伴奏或錄製的伴奏，或混合使用這兩種伴奏。
錄製的伴奏僅適用於等級演奏考試。參加遙距評核ARSM考試的考生必須使用現場伴奏。
